Underscored Publicity is on a verge to termination. That actually sounds quite harsh but that’s the best way to put it at this point in time. UP(city) was initially supposed to be a group effort of students that were in the know of pop and past culture. We were going to combine writing skills into a platform for common (and uncommon) culture. It turned out that the group effort never really came through. Though it was fun posting and writing small articles and features on brands, videos, music, and the accompanying products, the slight realization of an extra media platform was not wholly and necessarily needed. There seems to be way too many blogs portraying the same trends and features. You know all the big ones, especially these two competing titles, Highsnobiety and Hypebeast. Now if we as a whole (in the internet game) keep making these streetwear, art, design, fashion, and music blogs that get most of their information and material from the same sources, why don’t we just collaborate and cultivate to bring something new. There are only a few that are doing so. To name a few, well actually to name the notable, The Aveder Outfit and The Madbury Club. These are different by change in layout and they bring you the new through personal experience and straight up opinion, pushing the boundaries way past legal. That’s what makes a good blog/site.

Let’s get back to the realness though. Underscored Publicity, that is. Here we learned about new, up and coming brands. We heard music from way back when. Discovered sites that gave you new ways to find and look at things that you have grown accustomed to. And of course, as the author, have learned to spread the news and love of all the features combined. I have even improved on the writing skills and have come to enjoy it. Best believe that I will still be writing, just not at this location. Just for pleasure.

Though UP(city) is closing up shop at the moment, suggestions and entries are welcomed. Celebrating 50 years of Dr. Marten and Hello Kitty the two culture enthused brands team up to bring you a rock steady boot and a classic Mary-Jane for Spring/Summer 2011. A collage of Sanrio favorites (Hello Kitty, Chococat, Badtz-Maru, etc.) are  compiled on both shoes. These are available for pre-order at Sanrio, Dr. Marten, and Nordstrom.

A pop-up store full of recycled Coca-Cola products. Don’t you just love the idea? As there are more efforts into being more green why not be “red” with Coca-Cola. Go out and get that can that you just threw out and recycle and/or reuse. This all comes down to being innovative and trying new ways to be more efficient with possible waste.

Coca-Cola Israel launched a pop up store for recycled products. The company opened a special shop offering a collection of products made from recycled Coca-Cola bottles and cans. The campaign invites customers to bring bottles and cans to the store where they can purchase recycled products for bottles and a small additional price.

“Hello, I Like You” is a short film by Mixtape Club that simply portrays happiness. Surprisingly, I caught myself smiling throughout the video. I think there is something about “dancing inanimate objects” and music that triggers your brain resulting in a reaction to smile. Enjoy the video!

Raspy voice and everything, Lauryn Hill still sounds good and rocks the crowd. She hit us with some good ol’ Fugee classics too. There might be only but a few days to hours that this video will be available until the copyright thing goes through. Who knows? Anyway, take this chance and watch these last few songs that Lauryn Hill performed at Coachella 2011.

This came out a late last year and I instantly liked it. It just sounds good and has good vibes and all that good stuff. Miracle produced “Better Dayz” and recently is on tour with Busta Rhymes, Keri Hilson, Ciara, Bow Wow, and more well-known artists in Sydney, Australia.
